CANDLE CARE

To get the best out of your candles please carefully read the following guidelines in order to get a clean, safe and quality burn when lighting your candles each time.

________________________________

  • When lighting your candle for the first time, always allow for the melted wax to reach to the edges of the candle glass (known as the melt pool) before extinguishing. This prolongs the candles overall scent throw and prevents the candle from tunnelling. For our luxury candles this can take up to 3-4 hours on the first burn.

  • Subsequent burns should be no longer than 2-4 hours at a time. This will ensure you get a safe, quality and clean even burn, allowing you to get the most out of your candle.

  • Always trim your wick to 5mm before lighting using a wick trimmer. Doing this will help the candle burn evenly. Your candle has been perfectly trimmed, ready for its first use and burn, simply unbox your candle and enjoy. Extinguish the candle if it flickers, smokes or the flame gets too high.

  • Always keep the candle free from any foreign materials and debris, including matches and wick trimmings before lighting, to stop flaring and to have a safe and quality burn. When the candle is lit, ensure the wax pool is free from foreign materials, including matches and wick trimmings, as these may present a fire hazard.

  • Always burn the candle within sight and never leave a burning candle unattended to prevent fire and serious injury.

  • Always extinguish a burning candle before leaving the room and when going to sleep.

  • Do not blow the candle out, use a candle snuffer to safely extinguish the candle flame. This is to prevent the wax from smoking and spilling out of the candle glass. After extinguishing the candle, while the wax is still soft/ molten, ensure the wick is always centered.

  • As with all candles there is always a risk of the candle glass overheating and shattering if burnt for a long period of time. Do not touch a candle that has been lit. Never attempt to move a burning candle.

  • When your candle wax reaches 10mm, do not relight and burn again. Immediately discontinue using your candle, as it has now finished.

      • Always leave 15cm distance between burning candles and do not move a burning candle. Ensure you allow enough headroom for the heat from the flame.

      • Only burn the candle on a level and stable, heat and fire resistant surface. We advise on not burning your candle any longer than the maximum recommended burn time.

      • Never burn the candle on or near anything that can catch fire.

      • Always burn candles in a well ventilated room.

        • Keep out of reach of children and pets.

        • Keep candles away from drafts.
